from the headbox rebuild. Thanks to our conti nued rebuilds and upgrades in these years, Yinzhou has become the competi ti ve company that it is today,” says Li Weier, chairman of Yinzhou Paper, who is sati sfi ed with the good results. Having a mindset for conti nuous
improvement, the management team decided that the linerboard
quality of its PM1 and PM2 producti on lines needed a boost. Wang Zhentao, general manager of Yinzhou Paper explains: “We had frequent customer complaints regarding the evenness and CD profi les of our test liner, so we decided to replace the headboxes. “The existi ng headboxes were made locally with a design speed of 500 m/min. The mill increased the machine speed to 750 m/min
through day-to-day opti misati on, but the headboxes couldn’t keep up with the higher speed, leading to quality problems.”
