Measuring the water mass
The continuous measurement of the water mass and consistency in the forming section are important to evaluate the dewatering, formation quality, optimize and/or control loop the vacuum, the bonding of the paper layers in the case of multilayer forming, and to reduce the energy consumptions.
FiberScan™On-line
FiberScan™ is a highly accurate, on-line microwave meter non radioactive, easy to install, for measuring consistency/water mass on paper and pulp machines. The system is based on a unique multi-patented microwave technology & algorithm, which allows precise consistency measurements of the paper stock thickness, up to 54mm (2,2” or 54.000gsm). The proprietary measuring process allows the unique output of conductivity measured by the sensors.
The reduced sensor dimensions make measurements in extremely confined spaces, harsh conditions possible.
The system makes it easier to evaluate machine and/or process changes in real time as operators can view changes instantly on the DCS/QCS screens.
The optional DWB pneumatic suspension system with adjustable pressure, allows precise safe & dynamic sensor contact with the forming fabric on difficult positions.
The Epic™ control unit is a sophisticated hub with connections to 16 sensors, compatible with the full range of Cristini smart sensors for the forming, press & dryer section. The system diagnostics, sensor normalization, FFT analysis are performed trough an Android™ Tablet and dedicated SmartApp™. Remote diagnostics via internet.
