// Wedding Stationery

Is there a free bar or if guests are paying for drinks, can they use a credit card or is it a cash only bar? Have you listed local accommodation and is there a discount at preferential hotels? Are you operating a gift list? All of this needs to be included as essential information that guests need for the day.

Think about what information you need the guests to tell you on the RSVP. There should be space to make a note of any dietary requirements and allergies that should be pointed out to the venue on the day – then make a note of where they are sitting. Do you have a photography policy? Some guests want to reveal their own wedding pictures and request that no photos are taken in the church etc. and are not posted on Facebook. Don’t forget to double check all the details on your invitation and RSVP card, including the deadline for responses. You may also want to pre-pay for postage on the RSVP, although not everyone does this and it certainly isn’t expected!

From bespoke stationery, which this year sees touches of velvet for a really lush feel, through to off-the-shelf invites, there are some stunning options that can cope with even the most unusual of themes. In terms of stationery, think about your order of service, menu cards and place cards for the table, the table plan itself and also the guest book. These can co-ordinate or perhaps not – that’s up to you.

If you’re adding handwritten details to your invitations, ask friends and family if anyone is good at calligraphy, neat writing is essential and thoughtful. Maybe order a few spare invitations in case you make a mistake – always a good idea! Also think about the postage costs. Whilst boxed invitations are a delight to open, they are costly to post, so if you have a strict budget, do bear this in mind.

We have a selection of invitations to inspire you…
