LOCAL HEROES Community heroes

We rely on people to raise money to keep us flying. Here are just some of them. 1 2

1 For four years the North Gloucestershire

Football Association have been heroes by

choosing us as their charity. During 2016 they raised £3,000 from various activities. This amount was added to their amazing four year total – which was £11,300. Thanks to their support we can fund more life-saving missions.

2 Members of Weston MP John Penrose’s Parliamentary Project team have been

fundraising for us. They held a bucket collection in the high street during National Air Ambulance Week, and really stood out in their eye-catching costumes. It was the first time we have had someone dress as a parrot for us! They raised a fantastic £404.35.

3 A team from Allianz took on the fearsome Devil Mud Run. They ended up

very bruised and muddy – but the pain was worth it when they totted up the money and it came to£928! Even better news is that this will be matched by their employer.

4 Regulars at The Inn on The Marsh in 3 Moreton in Marsh swapped their pints

for bikes, and completed a cycle ride for us. Their challenge was made extremely worthwhile by the fact that they raised £682.20 for us.

5 A team from the Bristol City Centre Marriott have been fundraising for us.

The Bat Lavs have been running, cycling, and walking their way to raise an impressive £12,293.02. And they are not stopping there – with more fundraising events planned.

6 Battling thunderstorms and steep hills 4 5 Gloucestershire Young Farmers pulled a

tractor 50 miles across Gloucestershire. They decided that supporting GWAAC would benefit the whole farming community because of the rural and often isolated location of many farms and fields. The gruelling task saw them raise more than £400.

7 Nailsworth Rotary Club have raised a phenomenal £22,560 for us over the

last few years. They have held lots of fundraising events, and their support has enabled our crew to continue to save lives across the region.
