the internet, especially the kids of the person in need, to try to find the lowest price for them, but our prices are actually about $50 lower than any price you’ll see online,” says Dastoli. “We want to get the word out that if you see something online, and you truly want to help mom or dad save money, please contact us and let us beat the price. Plus, we’ll set up the machine and deliver it. We’ll show them all the safety features, how to go forward and reverse, and how to adjust all the settings for maximum comfort.” Many mobility products may be paid for by insurance, and Dastoli has considerable experience helping clients and their families navigate the process. Independent Mobility also services all of the machines it sells and rents, as well as equipment purchased elsewhere. People curious about how mobility machines can improve their lives are encouraged to visit the Independent Mobility showroom for a test drive. “People are welcome to try one out right on the sidewalk. It’s a great way to help them imagine what a machine can do for them.”
YARMOSKY PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY
For over 40 years Yarmosky Pediatric Dentistry has been dedicated to providing the highest quality dental care for children in Berkshire County and beyond. Based on the latest research about children’s health, we are enhancing our present early and interceptive orthodontic treatment focus. name a few. With our focus on wellness and airway development, children will begin to breath better, sleep better and become truly healthy. This more holistic approach not only straightens teeth, often without braces, but most importantly promotes general health and wellness – and that is something to smile about. Call us for a free consultation to see how we may be able to help your children. BEAUTIFUL SMILES-HEALTHY KIDS.
Gymfest of the Berkshires provides general instruction for students aged six to 13, with athletes as young as seven on the competitive team. Open gym nights allow older students to practice at the facility, while programs such as the follow-me class offer parents a fun way to introduce children to the gym as soon as they learn to walk. The gym’s spring session of programs begins this month. “We’ve had a great rise in numbers lately, as kids get excited about getting going with the session,” Brian Pickard continues. “It’s a tradition. It’s a lifestyle. Especially at a competitive level, a lot of gymnasts practice 12 hours a week, mostly after school and at night, and then they travel to meets on weekends. To be in school getting ready for college, doing your homework and managing to condition yourself to train and compete takes incredible commitment and work ethic. This trains them for life, and they’ll have the energy and discipline to do more for themselves.”
GYMFEST OF THE BERKSHIRES
Proving what genuine commitment can achieve, young athletes from Gymfest of the Berkshires in Pittsfield have placed victorious from the National Judges Cup Championships.“The championships bring the top six gymnasts in Massachusetts to compete against the top six from other states in the nation, with a seventh gymnast as an alternate, or all star,” explains Brian Pickard, who shares the roles of Gymfest owner, director, team coach and class instructor with his wife, Stephanie Pickard.
TIMELESS TRAINING &
In addition to working with gymnasts, Brian Pickard is a highly qualified personal trainer and owner of Timeless Training, located next door to Gymfest. He is also a professor at Berkshire Community College, teaching exercise science, fitness program planning, advanced strength training, stretch and flexibility, and principles of fitness components; essentially a whole semester on how to assess the five tools of fitness. When Pickard is not busy teaching future personal trainers everything they need to know about this complex profession, he applies his expertise to helping clients at Timeless improve their health and wellbeing. The process begins with a full biomechanical assessment to determine which imbalances must be corrected before moving forward with specialized individual training programs. From Major League Soccer players to people coming out of physical therapy, clients find Timeless Training creates accountability and success. “The hardest part is showing up. It’s our responsibility to meet them the other steps of the way,” Brian Pickard says. “Fitness isn’t just a goal or a fad, it’s a lifestyle, and we try to instill in our clients to do it every day. Our motto is ‘Train Dynamic, Be Dynamic.’”

In an effort to best reflect the office’s philosophy regarding our treatment goals, we would like to announce our new name: Yarmosky Pediatric Dentistry - THE BERKSHIRE CENTER FOR CHILDREN’S DENTAL WELLNESS AND AIRWAY ORTHODONTICS. In almost all cases, “crooked”, crowded, improperly spaced teeth and narrow jaws, “overbites” and “underbites” are not genetic. In fact, they are a result of mouth breathing, improper tongue posture and incorrect swallowing habits in young children. These issues often begin to occur as early as age one, and not only have a negative effect on the way the face and jaws grow, but can lead to “sleep disordered breathing “, putting our children at risk for many health problems affecting our modern- day children like frequent ear and respiratory infections; issues with attention, learning and anxiety; chronic nasal congestion; tooth grinding; snoring and issues with sleep, to
