Despite spending many lunch hours in practice for the big night, sadly none of the FCC teams won through to the next round but, despite that, all of the teams did extremely well and were able to learn much from the experience.

Once again the competition showed that our young people are not just errant teenagers and the views and opinions they expressed had some salutary lessons for us so-called more mature individuals. They should all be congratulated for the time and effort they put into it. We hope that they enjoyed and benefited from the experience.

Finally we need to thank Faringdon Community College and the headmaster, Colin Proffitt, who presented the winners with their trophies, for allowing us to hold the competition in the school hall. We should also thank the Interactors for their help in stewarding the event, Paul for providing the drinks including an excellent glass or two of wine and of course, Shaena Whitney for arranging and Lou Smith Catering, for putting on such splendid buffet.

We look forward to next year’s competition at King Alfred’s Academy.
