I

t was back in the summer

that three FFE team members sat down in the kitchen over tea and bikkies to “brainstorm” the theme of this year’s journal. We chose the theme of Prosperity as the first news of a potential economic decline hit the global consciousness. As the writing of the newsletter progressed, ‘decline’ escalated (oxymoron?) to the use of the big “R” word (I won’t affirm it), and we knew we had chosen our subject well.

We know that the majority of the world’s peoples live in a continual state of impoverishment, and of course we seriously need to address this and how we share the world’s resources. But we will not take up the Greater Cause here. Our hope is to stimulate positive and creative thinking by offering some tools to help to heal or at the very least alleviate the ‘emotional economic decline’ being experienced by many people at this time. Our aim in this issue is to offer possibilities on a personal level that can ripple out from each one of us to help to further the ‘sense’ of prosperity for ourselves and those around us.

As usual, my first investigations into our theme took me to dictionary meanings and I was surprised to learn that the world ‘wealth’ derives from the old English word “weal”, which means “well-being.” The term was originally

an adjective to describe the possession of great qualities. Isn’t it fascinating how, in our modern minds, this word has come to mean the state of being rich and material prosperity?

Similarly, Prosperity: The state of being prosperous; advance or gain in anything good or desirable; successful progress in any business or enterprise; attainment of the object desired; good fortune; success.

We feel prosperous to the extent that we are happy and fulfilled in our lives. It’s not only about having an abundance of things, rather it is a state of consciousness, a state of mind. In fact, it is a spiritual state. Like everything else it is governed by the Law of Attraction which can also be called the Law of Love.

It’s principles are simple: there is an invisible source for every visible thing; the idea of every physical thing stands behind every thing; the process by which invisible substance takes form is influenced by us; and all thought and action manifests effects. Energy follows thought.

Prosperity manifests when we align with the universal laws to bring the world of spirit into material form. Nature is abundant, and everything comes from “it”; the raw materials that we transform and make valuable in our lives. We are co-creators with Nature and it is our work to bring it down into manifestation.

We hope that you will feel inspired to explore this inner work with the help of the flowers and that the articles in our journal will provoke some thought along these lines.

With much light and love
