Tijuana Foodie Adventure Join Wild Foodie Tours for an all-inclusive, insightful food tour in Tijuana. Fantasy on Ice Lace up your skates and glide into the Yule- tide as Fantasy on Ice kicks off its second year at Liberty Sta- tion. Located behind the Dick Laub NTC Command Center at 2640 Historic Decatur Rd., the rink has raised more than $1 million dollars for the Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood
Disorders at Rady Children’s Hospital and is the only holiday rink in San Diego where 100% of proceeds directly benefit the nonprofit. Fantasy on Ice opens on Thursday, November 17 with live performances from San Diego’s best ice-bound talents and will remain open to the pub- lic through January 8, giving a North Pole makeover to Liberty Station’s historic barracks and plazas. See Birds of Prey At any given time Skyhunters is responsible for more than 20 non-releasable raptors, including various hawk and owl species, and they work with as many as 300 rehabbed raptors every year. The facilities at Skyhunters includes a 70-foot flight cage that all of the flighted birds use for conditioning. At this event you can see some of these birds of prey up close. Presentation by Nancy Conney, program director, who says she also has a personal collection of colorful and noisy parrots, cockatoos, and macaws at home. Saturday, January 7, 1pm; $5. The lecture will include new and older sources for German Jewish genealogy found on the internet as well as in libraries in the L.A. area.
