1922 AC Sports


Mk II BJ7, finished in works colours and in pristine condition after 18 years of restoration work, sold at its top estimate of £56,000.


• A 1934 Bentley Special two-seat open tourer with impeccable craftsmanship found its way to a new owner at £142,000.


• It was a great day for the Mercedes-Benz marque – of the 22 consigned, 19 sold, including a 1986 500SL roadster with just 11,650 miles, which sold over estimate for £38,640, a 1960 300 pillar-less phaeton of- fered at no reserve, which sold for £37,520 with a rousing cluster of bids in the hall, on the phone and on-line, a 2004 CL65 AMG powerhouse raced over estimate, settling on £23,240 and a 1967 250SL roadster in supreme condition soared 60 per cent over mid-estimate to settle on £72,576.


• A 1962 MGA Mk II 1600 sold over estimate at £24,640.


• A 1922 AC Sports in magnificent polished aluminium settled well over estimate at £52,640.


• Of the 12 Jaguars consigned, it was nearly a clean sweep as 11 sold strongly including a 1954 XK120 drophead coupé, a non-runner, requiring light restoration, sold over-estimate for £53,312 and a 1959 XK150S drophead coupé in superb condition, sold at £120,960.


• A meticulously presented 1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I drophead coupé sold at its top estimate at £137,760.

• A 1928 Rolls-Royce Phantom 1 open tourer requiring total restoration and offered at no reserve sold for £26,680.
