Philanthr opic Highlights AUCTION

Aardy Went To Hollywood! Saturday, March 12, marked OES’s 30th annual Auction, with over 300 guests celebrating the Golden Age of the Silver Screen. Aardy Goes to Hollywood was a star-studded evening led by Chair Michelle Fitzhenry and Co-Chair Hilary O’Hollaren, along with their glamorous committee, in creating an evening worthy of the red carpet and student paparazzi! Scene-stealing OES students appeared in a video entitled A Second Home, then spoke from the stage about what it means to be an Aardvark.

This year’s Auction was the most successful in a decade, grossing more than $540,000 in support of faculty professional development, the AASK program, and other important projects that enhance both the OES campus and student learning experiences. This elegant event requires hundreds of volunteer hours as well as a commitment from school and community-wide partners.

Some of the projects funded by the 2016 Auction include: • New turf for the all-school field • Repurposing Fariss Hall (old Lower School) to include the following: – Student Fitness Center for PE classes and Athletics offices – Music classrooms and practice spaces – All-school student design and production lab
