Since taking over the business some 3 1/2 years ago Alison and her son Dan have established a good local reputation for a warm welcome, fine foods, real ales (many of which are Kentish Ales) and a well maintained cellar. The Inn has a large garden, outside bar and a very popular children's play area. The excellent B&B accommodation serves both tourists, business and trade guests and increasingly friends and relatives of local people who need over flow accommodation. Well qualified chefs offer good quality locally sourced home cooked food and the new Autumn menu launches 3 October, and for the first time now includes artisan stone baked pizzas for eat in or take away and special offers on Tuesday Pizza Night. The West End Tavern in Marden is known for its well kept ales and traditional pub food together with the warm atmosphere. A bar menu and daily special are available from Tuesday to Sunday between 12-2pm and Monday to Saturday 7pmto 9pm. On Sundays, a family style roast lunch is served from 12- 2pm and booking is advisable. Originally built in the 18th century, the West End Tavern is located on the site of the Old Forge in Marden. The 'Tavern' quickly became the most popular 'beer house' among the local Kent Hop Pickers in the in the 1940's to 1950's and today still retains the original low beams and an inglenook fireplace. Well behaved dogs and children are welcomed and our pretty garden.
