Phone saver A REDUNDANT phone box in Dit-


ton has been given a new role which could help to save lives. The old BT box on the corner of Nursery Road and Woodlands Road now houses a defibrillator for use in an emergency.


It has been supplied by the Com- munity Heartbeat Trust and BT in an initiative backed by Aylesford MP Tracey Crouch. KCC Cllr Peter Homewood, who provided funding for the Ditton project, said: “I am pleased to sup- port such a community-driven project making these lifesaving pieces of kit more accessible to local communities.”


The box and the defibrillator will be maintained by Ditton ward bor- ough councillors Ben Walker and Tom Cannon.

Coffee date TEMPTING treats will be on offer


at Amelia’s Closet Nails and Beauty when the Kings Hill salon takes part in the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and After- noon Delight on September 30.
