23-25 September Uke East Norwich Arts Centre


Roll over George Formby, this year’s Uke East in Norwich will see rock and punk band Te Mother Ukers headlining at the Norwich Arts Centre. Come and see some of the most exciting ukulele players from around the country, including Opera-lele, Te Bijoux Toots and Ben Rouse from Te Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. Of course the Norwich Ukulele Society will be covering modern faves as well as some more traditional numbers, and everyone can join in on the mass busk on September 25th. If you’re a uker yourself, book a place on one of the workshopa to hone those skills.

September Teatre Royal Norwich


Celebrate the golden age of Hollywood as Tat’s Entertainment takes to the stage on September 5th-10th. Expect glorious costumes and sumptuous music as well as West End star Ruthie Henshall and Britain’s #1 vocal harmony group Te Overtones. Ten take a jump to the right September 12th-17th as Te Rocky Horror Show returns. Te world-famous rock ‘n’ roll musical follows the adventures of Brad and Janet as they encounter a host of outrageous characters. Te production boasts a star cast which includes Paul Cattermole from out of S Club 7, Steve Punt from out of Punt & Dennis, and Liam Tamne from out of Te Voice, plus pelvic thrusts galore natch.


Joan Collins brings her Unscripted show on Sunday 18th September, before you take up your chance to shake a tail-feather as Te Blues Brothers return for one night only on 20th September. Te month ends with a Norwich return for Alan Partridge’s long-suffering PA Lynne, aka top actress Felicity Montagu. Lovely Lynne. She stars alongside Matthew Kelly in the costume drama Pride and Prejudice on September 27th-October 1st.


02-04 September Jazz Weekender Venues across Norwich


Now in their third year, Norwich Jazz Club are once again bringing a flavour of London's Soho jazz vibe to the city. Tey’ve organised 11 shows taking place over three days at Epic Studios, the Playhouse and OPEN's club room. In addition to a diverse programme that includes swing, big-band, bebop, Cuban / Congolese fusion, soul, funk and contemporary jazz styles, this year's event also provides students and patrons with opportunities to get involved, with instrumental and vocal workshops with four of the festival artists, and late night jazz jam sessions taking place at Platform 12 Piano Bar on St Benedict’s. Nice.

05-17 September Norwich Print Fair St Margaret’s Church, St Benedict’s St


Since its inception in 1995 Te Norwich Print Fair has become one of the best loved independent shows selling contemporary, original, hand-made prints in East Anglia. Installed at St Margaret’s Church for two weeks every September you can view and buy artwork to suit every taste and pocket. On Saturdays all artists are present with extra work and sketchbooks, happy to talk about their inspiration and techniques. Entrance is totally free.
