Editor’s note


s always when I'm writing the editor's note for the summer issue I imagine that, by the time the magazine comes out, I'll be sunning myself in the garden.


As usual though the reality tends to be, oh how shall I put it....a little different! We seem to be able to get four seasons in one day on this island but I'm


sure, like myself, you wouldn't change it for the world! Anyway, regardless of what the weather’s like outside, you’re always


guaranteed plenty of sunshine and heart-warming features in Modern Mum. Alex James lost his premature son, Tom, aſter only 42 days. On page 20


Alex talks candidly and movingly about how the loss of his fourth child has affected him. Beautiful and bubbly, TV celebrity, Anna Williamson, lights up our


screens in programmes such as Tis Morning. Watching her, you’d never dream that Anna suffered for a decade from severe anxiety, but like so many others, Anna hid her problems from the public. When she found out that she was pregnant, Anna decided to come off her anti-anxiety medication and wants to help other pregnant women, who find themselves in a similar situation. Anna speaks to MM on page 10. Te summer holidays are already upon us and many of us will be facing the
