News Leeds blaze
FIRE swept through close to 300 tonnes of straw in a field fire at Leeds. Two fire engines were called to
the stubble field in Upper Street just before 11pm on July 25, where crews encircled the blaze to prevent it from spreading. Crews stayed at the scene throughout the night using drag rakes to pull the stack apart. Firemen worked with the farmer
the next day to extinguish the final embers.
