ARTS& ENTERTAINMENT There are an assortment
of arts and entertainment opportunities in Baxter County and the Twin Lakes Area. Live music can be found
at various venues, there are 11 movie screens in Moun- tain Home, different events- such as the Baxter County Fair- often feature entertain- ment, and several clubs and organizations have regular dances. In addition, Arkansas
State University Mountain Home presents a Perform- ing Arts Series each year beginning in the fall at the Vada Sheid Community De- velopment Center. Each year, The Sheid has present- ed an autumn performance by the Arkansas Symphony, and the series also includes a variety of musical enter- tainment, as well as theat- rical productions. Dunbar Auditorium on
the Mountain Home High School campus hosts an assortment of school pro- grams throughout the year and is the site of other enter- tainment presentations, such as the annual Mountain Home Kiwanis Variety Show. Mountain Home boasts
Sun Valley Cinema at 704 Cooper Estates Drive and Baxter Cinema at 729 U. S. Hwy. 62 East adjacent to Twin Lakes Plaza. Sun Val- ley has six screens, stadium seating in all theaters, digi- tal sound and state-of-the- art presentation. Baxter Cinema-formerly
Carmike Village Five-has five screens with state-of- the-art digital projection and digital sound. Twin Lakes Playhouse is a
local theater company that presents plays throughout the year. Productions at the company have received excellent reviews. All varieties of stage

productions are presented, including drama, comedy and even musicals. The Playhouse features chil- dren’s productions during the summer as well as con- ducting workshops for young people. Membership in the Playhouse is open to the entire community. Bull Shoals Theater of the
Arts at Bull Shoals hosts a weekly music show on Mon- days in which local mu- sicians may participate. It also features several shows and concerts throughout the year, many showcasing art- ists from Branson, Mo. Through the summer
months, free live musical entertainment is available each weekend in downtown Mountain Home and Yell-
ville. Mountain Home hosts Friday Night on the Square each Friday from June through August featuring local entertainers. Yellville is home to Music on the Square every Saturday night from May until September, and also features local per- formers. Both events begin at 7 p. m. Each week, The Baxter
