NORFORK— The Norfork


School District’s adminis- trators and teachers work year-round to prepare for annual state tests. Norfork students have had outstand- ing scores for several years on Benchmark Tests. The school also has a


sixth- and seventh-grade computer literacy and tech- nology lab. Approximately 466 stu-


dents attend Norfork Schools. Local funding for the school district comes from a 34.39 mill property tax, which was increased with voter approval in 2007 from a previous rate of 31.69. For the second year in a


row, Arrie Goforth Elemen- tary was recognized as a high-performing school through the Arkansas School Recognition and Reward Program. The elementary school


was ranked in the top 10 percent of all state schools based on academic achieve- ment. The school was award- ed over $19,000 to assist with improving or maintaining student performance. In 2014, Arrie Goforth


Elementary was named a National Blue Ribbon School, one of only four Arkansas schools nominated for this prestigious award. Blue Ribbon schools demonstrate consistent excellence and make progress in closing gaps in student achievement. Norfork Schools also has a
