Liskeard Show 2016 - a great family day out Welcome to the show T


his year’s 113th show returns on Saturday 9th July at the Merrymeet site, opening at 8.00am until 6.00pm.


The President, Mrs Denise Hasshill will open the show at 11.00am with her guests.


Admission prices are, adults £10, children (5-15yrs) £4, under 5 years free, family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) £22. Tickets are available at the main entrance. Car parking is free.


Well behaved dogs on non-retractable leads are welcome to the show.


The FREE bus service this year from Liskeard is being run by Smiths Coaches, starting from Liskeard Railway Station at 9.00am, then runs to and from the showground approximately every 30 minutes, the last bus leaving the showground at 5.45pm.


We also have a FREE bus service from Callington again run by Smiths Coaches. Starting from the Bus Station at 9.30am and running on the hour to 12.30pm and then on the hour 2pm – 5pm. Regular return buses will leave the show with the last bus leaving at 5.30pm.


There are a large number of cattle, sheep, horse, donkey and poultry entries, as well as the companion dog show and pets corner.


The Domestic marquee will be open from 8.00am this year as the judging will have taken place on the Friday evening.


There will be cookery, flower arrangements, plants, art, handicraft, photography and vegetables classes on display as well as exhibits from local school children, young adults and young farmers.


The main ring attraction this year will be the Vander Brothers Duo Wheel; other attractions include the parade of vintage tractors, East Cornwall hounds, Horse driving, Young Farmers Tug of War, Heavy Horses and

new this year a Gun Dog demonstration.


Music this year will be played by the Sparking Luggers, Rame Peninsula Choir, Caradon Junior Strings, Liskeard Silver Band and Liskeard School (Judes group), starting mid-morning until late afternoon.


There is seating available near the bandstand where you can relax and enjoy the music before continuing to explore the show.


The Shopping and Craft, Homes and Gardens and Cornish Food marquees will have a variety of exhibitors selling their products as will the outside trade stands for your shopping opportunities.
