elcome to the June issue of IMT magazine, while some are thinking about a vacation many mills will be looking at the annual maintenance schedule and how to improve performance in the quieter summer months. Mill maintenance and service plays an important role in not only ensuring product quality but also the effi cient use of materials, energy use and optimal production.
Many mill sites will have dedicated personnel for all the day to day maintenance but there is an every increasing move to bring in specialist outside contractors for the in depth annual service and optimisation, thus freeing up the mills own staff to concentrate and get on with production related issues.
