Rev. Robert Arnold Graybill

Parish; Oberlin Neidig

Memorial; New Cumberland Baughman Memorial; Juniata Area Group Ministry Mexico/Ebenezer; JAGM Faith/Mexico/ Ebenezer; and Middletown Evangelical.

Rev. Graybill and his wife, Barbara’s, address will be PO Box 92, Mexico, Pennsylvania 17056-0092.

In reflection upon my forty-plus years of ministry, I have found the peace of our Lord as I treasured and tried to live out the words of the minor prophet Micah. He once shared these words in chapter 6: “He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.” The challenges of ministry had the ability to encourage my selfish biases, raise up unknown fears, and make painful cuts deep into my soul; however, Micah’s wisdom has offered sound guidance and sincere comfort on my journey in ministry and life.

Pastor Troy R. Harrold

Pastor Harrold was recommended ministry

for by Violet

Hill. He was licensed to preach in 2008. He

served Loganville and Adamsville/Yoe.

Pastor Harrold and his wife, Faye, will reside at 1119 Ruxton Road, York, Pennsylvania 17403-3037.

Before my ministry, I knew that God was with me as I went through life as a professional soldier, civilian employment, and providing for and raising my family. It was when I entered the ministry and became engaged with people who knew God, those who thought they knew God, and those who did not know God that I felt him using me for his purpose and not my own. During baptisms, confirmations, celebrations of life and death, weddings, consultations, and worship I felt him working through me to bring his love to them. I will always serve him.

Pastor Vicki A. Jordan

My greatest joy is knowing the hope and completeness of being a child of God. This knowledge of God’s great love has given me guidance, courage, and the desire to be in ministry, and share God’s love, grace, and forgiveness with those entrusted to my ministerial care. I am very grateful for the local pastor’s path that has given me many opportunities to be in ministry and to share the gifts and graces God gave me. My biggest regret is that I resisted God’s call early in my life to declare my candidacy.

Pastor Brenda D. Mitchell

Pastor Mitchell recommended ministry

2006. She served Sugar Valley.

Pastor Mitchell and her husband, Farley, will reside at 149 South Mill Street, Loganton, Pennsylvania 17747-9647.

What an adventure this time of ministry has been! Farley and I have truly been blessed. I never thought becoming a lay speaker would eventually lead to full-time ministry in a sweet place called “Sugar Valley.” But that’s where God called us, walked with us, and watched over us. At the times I was pushed out of my comfort zone, God was there to show the way. I look forward to the future and what lies ahead.

It’s been real and it’s been fun, but it’s not been real fun. It has been a God-led, grace- and mercy-filled faith journey that I’ve been privileged to share with my Lord and sisters and brothers throughout central Pennsylvania.

Rev. Thomas Jenkins, a United Methodist Church clergy, told me the denomination I was in was too narrow, and I needed theological elbow room. He was right. For ten years, as a fundamentalist clergy, I was repeatedly criticized for my unorthodox views of the Bible. All that was changed when I entered the UMC thirty-three years ago and was allowed safe space to understand Jesus in a new way. Since then the study of Jesus has challenged and fascinated me so much, that I still have the zeal of a convert.

My ministry has meant love and surprise at all hours, sacred moments at kitchen tables and dying bedsides, and has been a sacred opportunity to be partners in ministry with some of the most remarkable, honorable, and faithful people alive. I have felt wonder at being a spiritual midwife, gratitude for support and encouragement from colleagues and congregations, and have lived ordinary days spent among extraordinary

people, nurturing and

being nurtured by, challenging and being challenged by God’s people to live a life pleasing to God. My ministry has brought the full range of emotions, save one – I have never regretted saying, “Here I am Lord, send me.”

Pastor Vaux and her husband, Kenneth, will

reside at 105 Indigo Lane, Port

Matilda, Pennsylvania 16870. It has been a humbling and

joyful

pleasure to serve God for twenty-one years as pastor. Blessed by “thin spots” overwhelmed by God’s nearness, most often experienced

at births, rebirths,

and as saints were birthed into heaven. What other life offers such intimacy? My first season as disciple-maker was in serving a school board, working small groups as Bible study facilitator, living on dairy farms, and raising children. My second season of disciple-making was behind a pulpit and aside others in their faith journey. I am excited to follow God’s open doors into this next season of discipleship.
