Each designer has his or her own personality and style. How does your creative voice shine through? I enjoy creating a clean and fresh look that exuberates and shines with simplicity and beauty, which stands out and holds its own.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your work as an interior designer? Really, it’s about psychology. I work hard to learn my clients in order to pull out their tastes and personalities throughout their homes. I love this part of my job. Accomplishing my ultimate goal, which is designing unique spaces with an atmosphere that exuberates beauty and creativity, is very rewarding. It reflects my clients and who they are, bringing them joy and peace as they love and relish their new home. This is the ultimate, yet wonderful end result.

What inspired you in designing this room? Did you encounter any challenges in designing this room? My inspiration for this room came from the constraints of the space. I brightened the room to make it inviting and welcoming. The room was originally dark, with low ceilings and novelty carpeting.

What is your favorite aspect or element of this room and why? I would have to say that my favorite aspect of this space is the relaxed upscale appeal, using a new idea for the layout of a gentleman’s study.

Did you take a more technical or artistic approach in designing this space? My approach definitely embodied the rule of “form over function.” What did my client do for a living, for fun, and to unwind from the day? Answering these questions determined the selection of each piece I would use for the room.

What is unique about your design? Each designer has his or her own personality and style. How does your creative voice shine through? Every finish is updated and progressive. From the fabric textures and window hardware to the metallic fleck in the desk top, this room is designed to inspire.

What did you enjoy most in designing this room? What is the most rewarding aspect of your work as an interior designer? Taking an ordinary space and transforming it into a new and fresh look for each of my clients is one of the best feelings I get!

What inspired you in designing this room?

I love to decorate outdoor spaces. In my opinion, a home is unliveable without easy access to the outside. I want the owners of this beautiful home to be called outside to enjoy the beauty. My design is inspired by the nature that surrounds the screened porch and patio, and my goal is to compliment the environment.

What is your favorite aspect or element of this room and why? I love the screened-in porch because it has great “bones” and is a wonderful combination of natural materials. This space definitely has the potential to be someone’s favorite spot. If I succeed in my design and make it gorgeous and comfortable, I believe the new owners will spend a lot of time in this room.

Did you take a more technical or artistic approach in designing this space? Despite almost being a math major, I prefer to look at everything from a creative instead of a technical perspective. I am all about decorating with creativity, and don’t apply many technical rules to the process.

What is unique about your design?

I am designing these spaces with a lot of practicality and a bit of whimsy. I tend to throw in a few elements that surprise people and I’m not sure this will make my design unique, but it will make it fun!

What did you enjoy most in designing this room? I enjoy imagining how people will use the spaces I create. I always want the aesthetic to be welcoming and the rooms to be gathering places for family and friends. I love imagining all of the fun times to come in the spaces I design.

Did you encounter any challenges in designing this room? No—decorating a screened-in porch and patio is super fun and pretty straightforward.

Each designer has his or her own personality and style. How does your creative voice shine through? Design and creativity come very naturally to me. I was not educated as an Interior Designer, but actually have a background in business. When I’m designing a space I don’t always plan out every detail at the beginning, which I know is not technically correct, but it seems to work for me. I just keep adding and taking away until I’m happy. My best ideas come to me in my dreams.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your work as an interior designer? Knowing that my spaces make people happy when they are in them. The fact that a lot of wonderful memories will be made in the spaces I design is incredibly rewarding.
