change things. Okay, no big revelation there. But it’s just one of those facts we know but until we actually have children we don’t really know.

I remember one of my brothers saying, “Well, when we have kids it won’t change us.” At the time I smiled to myself and I thought of saying something to him but…what the hey, until you know you don’t really know... I didn’t want to get into it with him. Several major

things changed right away in our household. I’m the type that I fi rst have to straighten out the clutter before I can sit down at my desk. I should say I used to straighten out the clutter. With two children our house always appears cluttered and my desk, well, what desk. Once my daughter started fi rst grade we appeared to be one desk short.

Change Things

Kids

I truly believe any student should have their own space in which to study (to form good study habits). So, that’s how I lost my desk.

But it wasn’t just changes for me. My wife comes from a family that never leaves a dirty dish in the sink, would die rather than have an unmade bed and no one even thinks of squeez- ing the toothpaste tube

from any-

where but the bot- tom.

Hahaha, had to have a little laugh.

None of those requirements are currently being met in a house- hold with two small children. So, things do change. But the best change is the fact that now I have two little people in my life who unconditionally love me and I them with so much of my heart that sometimes it feels like my heart might explode. Yes, things change. But it has been the best change of my life.
