Upbeat Times 17th Spring Cleaning? Don’t Forget Your Teeth!

Petaluma, CA.~ When many of

think spring,

we think of spring clean-

ing! But don’t for- get about your

teeth! Here are

some top reasons to visit your dentist regularly.

Stop Tooth Loss And Pre- vent Cavities We all know that plaque is the leading cause of tooth decay and can cause cavities if leſt unattended. Did you also know that gum disease begins when plaque builds up? As gum dis- ease advances, plaque moves further down the tooth where it can destroy the supporting

bone in your jaw, causing teeth to loosen and fall out. Regular check-ups and dental

clean-

ings, fl ossing daily, and brush- ing twice a day are key factors in preventing gum disease.

Help Maintain Your Overall Health Recent studies have linked heart attacks and strokes to gum dis- ease, resulting from poor oral hygiene. Regular dental clean- ings help to keep your teeth and gums healthy and could possibly reduce your risk of heart disease and strokes. Your dentist can also screen you for oral cancer, which is highly curable if diagnosed early.

Brighten Your Smile A dental cleaning can remove some of the built-up stains that can happen over time by drink- ing coff ee, tea or wine, leav- ing you with a brighter, whiter

Freshen Your Breath Dental studies show that about 85 percent of people with per- sistent bad breath, also known as halitosis, have a dental prob- lem that is to blame. Even if you brush and fl oss regularly, pro- fessional dental cleanings are needed to remove plaque and bacteria that regular brushing and fl ossing can’t reach. T is will help keep your mouth healthy and fresh.

Save Money Most dental insurance plans pay for all or most of the cost of dental cleanings and check- ups. Some dental offi ces even have special plans that include cleanings.

In the long run you

will save money, time and pain by maintaining good oral hy- giene at home and visiting your dentist regularly!

school in India until they were granted custody after much re- search and perseverance. Bill was getting ready to retire back to the States, but they needed an entrance visa for Lalita in order to do so.

JOKES & Humor # 5 This was a lengthy

process, including forensics testing to determine her ap- proximate birth year, which was 1977-78. Lalita picked her own birth “date,” which coincided with the birthday of one of her favorite new sisters. Lalita now lives in Concord, California and is married with three children of her own.

When it came to retirement, the Janssens could have lived anywhere in the world, but Sue was clear that she wanted to live where she was fl uent in the native language (English) and in a climate she could tolerate. Their last U.S. home was in Palo Alto, but housing was too expensive so they started trav- eling north and discovered Se- bastopol and the perfect house/ location close to a school for Lalita. Everything seemed to fall into place, and after many years of moving around Sue still lives in the home they pur- chased in 1988. Bill has since passed and Sue has survived four surgeries following a brain tumor that was discovered in 2008. Life is good and there’s no place like home!

A man is at a magical staircase that’s 100 steps high. At the top of the stairs are untold riches, but in order to get to the top, you have to hear a joke from each individual stair and not laugh. If you laugh at any joke, you can’t go any higher. The jokes start off lame, but get progressively funnier.

The fi rst joke comes and the man is stoic.

Second. Third.

Not even a smile.

He get’s to the 99th step and before the step even tells the joke he bursts out laughing.

“Why are you laughing, I haven’t even told the joke!”

“The man wiped away tears of laughter and replied,

“I just got the fi rst one.” www.williebirdsrestaurant.com
