A little of what takes your fancy

Spring is in the air and, with it, the urge to get out and about now the lighter nights are finally with us. Whether you’re on foot or out in the car, Kent is blessed with an abundance of country pubs and restaurants serving up excellent fare to suit all tastes.

If you’re a party animal, The Fancy Goat in West Malling has a cocktail bar whipping up

everything from mouthwatering Mojitos to smashing Harvey Wallbangers. A favourite with ramblers is the Pepperbox Inn at Windmill Inn, Harrietsham. Leave muddy

boots at the door and pop in for a warm welcome, fine food and tasty ales. Down the road in Leeds village, regulars at The George Inn recommend the pub classics. If

it’s warm enough, you might even want to dine outdoors. The George Inn

The George Inn can be found at the heart of the quaint village of Leeds, close to Leeds Castle on the outskirts of Maidstone.

The cosy pubs offers a

warm welcome to all and prides itself on its great community spirit. As well as a great pint, delicious and traditional meals are served. There is a new menu for the Spring featuring all of the traditional favourites plus some new exciting additions too including sharing platters and fajitas. Be sure to save room for dessert – delicious sharing chocolate sundaes are also now on offer. If the weather is fine over Easter weekend perhaps plan to spend time in the pubs large beer garden.

The Fancy Goat

The Fancy Goat is a small, independent restaurant and cocktail bar situated in the heart of West Malling. Famous for its electrifying nightlife, this small establishment offers both elegant cocktails from a team of mixologists and bespoke British and modern European cuisine, from its talented team of chefs.

The menus are created by Michelin-star trained head chef Robert George, who has a great passion for food and locally sourced produce.

The restaurant has a wealth of choice, with best-quality

meats and daily supply of fresh fish across all of its menus. Choose from one of three dining areas. On entering The Fancy Goat you are welcomed by the Eley Kishimoto Lounge, a stylish brassiere restaurant. During the weekdays this is a place to dine informally but come the weekend this vibrant area comes alive and becomes an extension of the cocktail bar, providing a comfortable seating area to enjoy drinks with friends.

Situated at the rear of the ground floor, the Skylight

Room is light and airy and becomes one with the outdoor courtyard during summer months.

The Assembly Rooms is a second-floor fine-dining

restaurant. Come the evening this softly candle lit area becomes an intimate setting for the perfect meal.

Breakfast is served daily from 8:30am to 12noon Monday

to Saturday and 9am to 11.30am on Sundays. The all-day menu is served Monday to Saturday from 12noon to late.
