Jennifer from California acquired a tall, dark and hand- some gelding confiscated by a boarding barn …turns out this gelding had a show career, and had been raised on hundreds of acres of grass—a far cry from being locked in a stall for four years.
Dear RPSI: I am trying to locate more information on a horse I have. I unfortunately don’t know what his registered name is—he was confiscated from one owner under bad circumstances—he sat in a stall for four years! He has a brand on his left hip: a crown over twin bridges with the number 54. I was told he was imported from Canada and shown, but I really have no other information on him than that. Can you help point me in the right direction..?
—Thanks, Jennifer
RPSI: Hello Jennifer. We have some good news for you—we have identified your horse from his brand, markings, and age. His registered name is Kudos, and he was born in 1999, by the Trakehner dressage stal- lion Kaspareit, and out of a TB mother.
This is amazing news! I would love to get Kudos papers and if possible find out more information on what he has actually done showing…Thank you!
Cedric (Resolut)
Tis handsome show horse was a mystery… until his brands were deciphered and his heritage uncovered.
Hello RPSI, We just purchased a horse we were told was an imported Oldenburg, but the brands don’t seem
correct. Here are the 2 different brands. I am hoping that you could help me figure out his true identity. —Thank you, Donna
RPSI: Hello Donna I believe we have found your horse—his name is EWSZ Cebeck, by Corrido de Cha- tillon. Here is his pedigree. Good luck—he looks like a lovely horse!
Since discovering the RPSI breed we have since met two other horses in our show circuit from the same farm - one of which is another chestnut related to Cebeck. It was super fun to be able to find everything out and of course the RPSI is now our favorite breed. We hope to have Cebeck for many more show seasons as he has been so great this past year—he is such as fun and beautiful horse.
