Dan Collinson and Lesley Lyle graduated with a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) at a ceremony in September and have set up a company – Positive Psychology Learning (PPL) – which offers positive psychology courses, consultancy and coaching.


Its Introduction to Positive Psychology two-day courses – which next run on November 26- 27 at University Campus Aylesbury Vale (UCAV) – will help individuals explore how to apply positive psychology concepts into their daily lives, both at work and home.


And there are course discounts on offer for those who go on to study a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) at the University. The MAPP course is one of only a dozen of its kind in the world and can be studied either

Two recent graduates from Buckinghamshire New University have launched new courses – endorsed by the University – in positive psychology, an emerging science-based branch of traditional psychology which focuses on how people thrive, succeed and enjoy optimum health

Dr Matthew Smith, who co-runs the MSc Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) course at Buckinghamshire New University said: "At Bucks, all of our courses are designed to improve our students' employment prospects when they graduate. Both Dan and Lesley frequently push the edges of the discipline into new territories and I wish them every success in their new venture."

HWYE competition celebrates young entrepreneurship


The 2015 Haines Watts Young Entrepreneur of the Year finals take place on November 12 in Reading. Details of the finalists and overall winner will be revealed in the next edition and on the website (www.hwye.co.uk)


The HWYE finals are being held just before the start of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW – November 16-22), the world’s largest campaign to promote entrepreneurship and encourage the next generation of entrepreneurs to consider starting up their own business.


The competition and initiatives like GEW and GROW at Green Park (www.connecttvt.co.uk/ grow) bring together start-ups, innovators and developers to meet, network and collaborate. They inspire talented young people who are business-minded with activities designed to help them explore their potential and, as such, they are important building blocks for our future business leaders.
