“My goal for the summer was simply to improve every player’s skills and attitude so that they could play on a higher team, or make their high school team if moving up from middle school, or make their university team if graduating.” said Shayne.

Further to his coaching involvement, Shayne is exploring ways to help player development for juniors programs, and has volunteered to start a committee of volunteers dedicated to bettering junior and/or school ultimate in the Province of Manitoba. On top of it all, Shayne has worked tirelessly with a small group of motivated individuals to found the University of Winnipeg Ultimate Club.

Shayne is a full-time student at University of Winnipeg and Red River College, where he is working towards earning a Bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education and a Bachelor of Education with Certificate in Industrial Arts Teacher in May 2019

Shayne Pfeifer is the head coach at Golden Gate Middle School in Winnipeg, where he and Lisa Samborski developed a program that rivals other top schools in the province since 2013. This fall Shayne also coached at College Sturgeon Heights Collegiate, the secondary school that Golden Gate feeds into. He worked with Sturgeon’s teams to build a bridge between the two programs so that players would be encouraged to keep playing at the high school level after leaving Golden Gate. In 2015, Shayne was also the Head Coach of Flash, a new junior open team
