Refresh seems to be one of the words that is doing the rounds internally and externally where CPS are currently concerned.

Externally the profession waits for the Prescription for Excellence (PfE) refresh from the CPO which is one of her fi ve strategic arms of focus. CPS welcomes the refocus of the Scottish Government pharmacy strategy and hopes that this will bring with it a clearer idea of where our members can contribute to support fulfi lment of the ambitions within the document. I was encouraged at the recent PfE Reference Group meeting to see the direction of travel and hope this translates into areas where CPS members can engage to support optimal pharmaceutical care with a person- centred approach.

Internally CPS has undergone a Brand Refresh which is evident in our logo, communications and on our website. This was a signifi cant undertaking and from the teams point of view has been successful although member feedback is always important with such changes, so please do feedback to the offi ce with views positive or constructive in nature.

It seems like not so long ago that we were negotiating for the current years fi nancial arrangements. 16/17 negotiations will soon be upon us and CPS will be communicating with

members on areas that will help inform these negotiations due to start in December.

Please look out for this communication and support where you can.

Scottish Government await the upcoming Westminster spending review which will in turn provide the backdrop for the fi nancial envelope which we will be negotiating on. Recent sessions at the CPS Board and Council have left me in no doubt on the priorities of members going into these challenging discussions.

All that remains for me to say is to wish each and everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
