Apothecary Opens in New Brighton

iane Christofferson, owner of Aark Advanced Electrol-
ysis and Advanced Wellness, is expanding her office to include an apothecary starting in January. Christofferson recently received her Certification of Completion for the Naturopathic Wellness Coaching Course with Dr. Sheryl Dutchess, N.D., based in Florida. In 2014 Christofferson became a Certified Natural Health Professional through the National Association of Certified Natural Health Profession- als. “I’m continually on a quest for self-improvement and to find ways to help improve my clients’ quality of life,” she cites as her reason for her expanded offerings. “Recently, I worked with Connie Karstens at the Lamb Shop and Wellness Center, in Hutchinson to expand my knowl- edge and services in the area of herbal remedies and nutrition.” Christofferson offers an array of services at her office, including permanent hair removal with elec- trolysis, ionic foot detoxification and LED light therapy. A licensed cosmetologist and esthetician, she has been offering permanent hair removal since 1990. She also sells Young Living essential oils and other items helpful to her clients.

orthland Sustainable Solutions hosts a community gathering open to all to celebrate the amazing year
for the environmental movement in Minnesota, from 5 to 8 p.m., December 2, at Summit Brewing. Everyone is invited to bring something to share for the potluck supper. There will be free root beer, door prizes, a pie raffle and other surprises. Brew will be available for $2. People are invited to come and nurture relation- ships for building an ever more resilient community of engaged citizens. Massage Basics One-Day Class C
enter Point Massage and Shiatsu Therapy School and Clinic will offer a one-day class on Massage Basics from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on December 12, at their location in St. Louis Park. The class is designed for people who are considering a career in massage and bodywork, or for those who would like to learn a simple and safe massage sequence to practice on family and friends. Participants will learn a variety of basic massage tech- niques for the head, neck, back, arms and legs, empha- sizing continuity, completeness and confidence. Massage is great for stress reduction, relaxation, and improved circulation.
Attendees are advised to wear loose clothing and
bring two twin-sized sheets, a face towel, and a large blanket or towel for warmth. Massage lotion will be provided.
All instructors are members of the Center Point faculty and nationally certified by the National Certifying Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NC- CAOM) or the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), and/or are active members of the American Organization of Bodywork Therapies from Asia (AOBTA) or the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).
