SCHOOL OF THE FUTURE: OES

Girded by our commitment to inquiry-based education, OES is truly at the vanguard of Pre-K–12 education. We have framed our curricular focus through the Essential Competencies and we have designed our most recent teaching and learning space around this commitment. Add to that our best-in-class faculty, award-winning programs, small class sizes, spiritual development, service-learning, and other outside-of-the-classroom experiences for our students, OES is a model school. We hear this from colleagues across the country, but it’s even more important to see it play out in the lives of our students every day.

We could not achieve OES’s excellence without you, the school’s leaders. Through your philanthropic support, wise guidance, volunteerism, and deep involvement, you provide the strength and resources from which we operate. With you, the Board of Trustees and Administrative Team work together to continually make our vision of connecting people, ideas, and cultures to advance knowledge, create solutions, and enhance meaning a reality.

Of course we still have room to grow and adapt, and the new strategic plan will lead us in that direction. A continued refinement of the Essential Competencies and curricular coordination, a commitment to more diversity throughout our community, more facilities upgrades…all of these and more will inform our future direction as we continually strive to provide the best education possible for our students.

Thank you for all you do to help make this possible. Kate Lieber

hat is the school of the future? This was the overarching question of our 2015–2020 strategic planning process. Through intensive research, focus groups, surveys, and crowdsourcing, we were buoyed to hear a resounding chorus: “OES is the school of the future.”
