NOTE It is a good idea to refer to the pattern pieces while sewing.

6 Place the batting onto the wrong side of the gingham fabric, fold together lengthwise and stitch the side seams. 7 Stitch the corners following the diagram on page 81, to form the base. 8 Fold the flower print fabric together, also lengthwise, and stitch the side seams. Stitch the corners as before to form the base. 9 Place the flower print bag inside the gingham bag, right sides facing. Stitch together around the top edge, leaving an 8cm opening. Turn the entire bag out through the opening. Push the flower bag back into the gingham bag and top- stitch around the entire top edge. 10 Large bag outside section Fold both panels lengthwise together and stitch the side seams. Stitch the corners to form the base. Turn one bag through to the right side and place the other bag into the bag that was turned through, right sides facing. Stitch all around the top edge; leave an 8cm opening. Turn to the right side through the opening. Push one bag into the other bag and top- stitch all around the top edge. 11 Place the gingham bag into the outside bag and pin in place. 12 Stitch the strips of the gingham fabric together to form one long strip of fabric. Repeat with the small flower print strips. Stitch the gingham and small flower print strips together with right sides facing and then turn through to the right
side. Fold a hem in the open ends and sew the ends together to form a circle. Mark the two halves. 13 Pin the strip to the bag as indicated and stitch through both layers. 14 Inside bag and pocket Stitch a narrow hem along the top edge of the small pocket, fold in seam allowances along the side and bottom edges and stitch the pocket onto one side of the inside bag piece. Fold the loops lengthwise together with right sides facing, stitch and turn through to the right side. 15 Fold each of the two inside bag pieces lengthwise together with right sides facing and stitch the side seams. Turn one through to the right side and place into the other bag with right sides facing. Pin the loops in place between the two layers of the bag so the raw edges align and the loops face downwards. Stitch all around the top edge, stitching the loops as well, but leave an opening. Turn through to the right side. Push one bag into the other bag and top-stitch all around top edge. Sew the two buttons to the inside of the large bag to correspond with the loops. 16 Flower Stitch a narrow hem along three sides of the strip. Overlock the other edge and gather it in. Turn the gathered strip around and sew it down while turning. Sew the flower to the bag. Cover the button with gingham fabric and sew to the centre of the flower.
