From Skye to the Shiants The Glen Etive

10-night cruise with one departure in April, June, July, September / Price per person: £4500

Some of the most fascinating islands of the Inner and Outer Hebrides and the fabulous sea lochs of Argyll are brought together to provide a breathtaking cruise of stunning scenic contrasts. The Small Isles offer a wonderful panorama of constantly changing island scenery. On Skye the stark rise of the jagged Cuillin ridge drops to the gentle white of sandy beaches. The remote magical Shiant Isles are home to thousands of seabirds on their sheer cliffs. Returning to Skye, the calm waters of the Inner Sound allow access to the spectacular mainland sea lochs of Torridon and Carron and their traditional villages.

Typical Stopovers and Anchorages: • Tobermory: The main town on the Isle of Mull has a very scenic natural harbour, fringed with brightly painted buildings. Go ashore for shopping and woodland walks

• The Isle of Canna: With high sea cliffs and tiers of basalt pillars, Canna is the most striking and most westerly of the “Small Isles”, renowned for its wildlife

• Loch Scavaig: A breathtaking anchorage on the Isle of Skye with the backdrop of the Cuillin Mountains and the option of a walk to Loch Coruisk

• Scalpay, Raasay, & Rona: Passing the peninsulas of Elgol and Sleat and outwards to the Sound of Sleat and the Skye Bridge to explore the sheltered Inner Sound

• The Shiant Islands: Passing the northernmost tip of Skye head into the North Minch to the tiny and remote Shiant Isles, where the grassy slopes and sheer cliffs are home to thousands of seabirds

• Loch Torridon: Drop anchor in this awe-inspiring sea loch on the coast of Wester Ross in an area of outstanding natural beauty

• Shieldaig: After so much remote beauty, it is a pleasant contrast to call in at the charming village of Shieldaig, protected by the tiny Island of the same name

• Applecross: Returning to the calm waters of the Inner Sound, we cruise the coastline of the Applecross peninsula, with the profiles of Raasay and Skye ever present

• Loch Carron: A magnificent sea loch with a stopover in the village of Plockton • Isle of Eigg: Call in at famous Eilean Donan Castle before stopping over on the Isle of Eigg • Sound of Mull: Drop in at Loch Drumbuie or another inland further down the Sound before heading back across the mouth of Loch Linnhe to Oban and departure
