SCHOOLING/EDUCATION
parents go away, you move home often and have new schools, new friends. Providing somewhere like this means there is a relaxing, comfortable place that’s non-military. It gives them something nice and happy to do.”
RAF Leeming’s Station Commander, Group Captain David Bradshaw added: “We are very excited to have The Imaginarium. A lot of our personnel are held at high readiness to deploy, and whilst we are all volunteers, our children aren’t. So for them to have a place to do something really exciting, but in a safe environment is really huge. It took a few people with imagination who were prepared to take a risk – people with commitment to The Imaginarium who enabled it to become a reality.”
Kate said: “Working on the Imaginarium has really made me feel part of RAF Leeming. Lots of people believed in what we wanted to do and the help we received was incredible. Contractors did whatever was needed to make it happen. I love this room – it’s part of all of us as a community.”
