In the early 1960’s, Julius Fleischmann hired architect Don Nick to design what would become a Naples landmark. For many years after its completion, it was the home of the Naples Chamber of Commerce. Abandoned a few years before being purchased by the city, it fell into disrepair. Private donations exceeding $92,000 were used in the building’s restoration.
Today, it is a nature information and education center. It hosts nature talks and summer camps, provides information and brochures about its Partners and is home to the Robert W. Read Memorial Library (non-circulating).
If you have a group that would like to get some community service or volunteers hours, we are always looking for people to assist with the restoration of the Preserve Habitat. Please call 261-4290 for more information
