Hello, its a crying shame that black people have to get killed in a church, the house of God, before America and specifically the old Jim Crow South is moved emotionally to rid the confederate flag from display on government grounds and buildings. If they had been killed at a park or a mall or at a special festival or a holiday parade downtown, it would not have moved them to begin to remove from government property this symbol of hate and treason that cost 600,000 Americans lives lost in the Civil War. Thousands of African Americans have been terrorized, brutalized and killed under this banner of hate. I Think that at the end of the day God had had enough and I don’t think he’s finish yet in correcting America’s wicked ways in not only in its mistreatment of African Americans and other minorities here at home but is poised to unleash his raft for crimes against humanity abroad. Charleston should be a wake up call for America that there is no longer busi- ness as usual. Despite the forgiveness of the survivors of those that were killed, it should be noted that their was an airy quiet throughout America immediately after the news broke. Unlike, Ferguson and Baltimore, the Charleston Massacre is the quiet before the storm. Symbolism must be followed with substantive policy change that address institutionalized racism.

Hello, I’m calling to thank the Greensboro Times for informing it readers that Sarah Palin lost her bid to become Miss Alaska to an African-American woman. I love your paper because we get so much information that the main print media choose not to report. I haven’t observed this shown or reported on CNN, NBC, ABC, FOX or Headline News. Thank you for informing us of this in your last month issue (September ’08). Keep up the good work.

Hello, I am wondering whatever happened to the City’s investigation of the 93 black male citizens in the City’s police “black book.” Were these black males subject to any police harassment or miscon- duct? Does anyone on the City Council care? We have heard about the status of the other investi- gations and law suits regarding the police but not this issue. . . . Hello, G-Times, you know what’s up with this Sarah Palin, Joe six pack obsession. Many of the Joe six pack types I know voted for Bush not once but twice. Most of them are worse off than they were four years ago and three of them have lost jobs that they worked on for more than ten years. Joe Six Pack should be mad as hell at Bush and should fear a McCain Palin presidency that obviously will make their income status worst. . .

Hey, what’s wrong with this picture, Mayor Nancy Vaughn and Governor Pat McCrory agreeing to consider legal action against the state legislation for passing redistricting legislation that provide black folk in Greens- boro more political power than Greensboro’s present system. Four black districts out of eight districts is bet- ter than our present two black districts out of six plus three white controlled At-Large seats any day of the week. Common sense should tell you that four out of eight is a better situation for us black folk than two out of nine. Can you count ? An idiot should be able to understand this simple third grade math. As to Governor McCrory, he has worked against black folk interest every since he has been Governor and has been a target of NAACP protest for alleged black voter suppression. Yea, Mayor Vaughn working against black folk interest isn’t new, remember, she unsuccessfully attempted a city take over of the Civil Rights Museum.

Hello. I just watched a report on CBS news where Greece turn down a financial bailout of their ailing econ- omy, just as a passing comment toward the end of the report, Greece was credited with founding the study of science, philosophy and other advancements in the early civilization of man. Schools in America and throughout Europe continue to tell this lie to advance the philosophy of white supremacy. Africa was and is the birthplace of science, the arts and philosophy. Alexander the Great conquered Africa and the Greeks stole all of the writings, literature and science from the numerous libraries and educational centers from African and credited themselves with these accomplishments. The bottom line is that Plato, Aristotle and all the other so-called academic scholars of Greek philosophy are frauds and plagiarizers.

Hello, Earl, I just simply love The Greensboro Times, the article in last month”s June edition on reparations was great and very educational. I had no idea that a study had been conducted that calculated numerically how much money Black Americans are owed for reparations. If America were to pay us for 246 years of free labor that built the wealth and economic foundation of the country, according to the study, the economic damages that’s owed would come to $800 billion. It confirms what Martin Luther King once said about reparations for Black people “They owe us a lot of money”. Earl, Thank you for The Greensboro Times and it informative articles and commentaries. Keep up the good work and may God bless and take care of you and your family.
