Arkansas Trucking Association present- ed another successful Annual Business Conference and Vendor Showcase. More than 300 individuals represent- ing over 120 companies and organiza- tions attended the Annual Conference on April 28–May 1 at the Hot Springs Embassy Suites and Convention Center. With a new format, the confer-
ence program boasted more council meetings, executive forums, vendor net- working and parties than ever before. The action started Thursday morning at the 40 Under 40 Council meet-
ing, where Max Farell, co-founder of Create Reason, presented his plans for recruiting Millennials to the industry. The Safety Management Council and Maintenance & Technology Council also brought members together in Hot Springs for presentations by Rob Abbott, VP of Safety Policy at the American Trucking Associations and John Smith, VP of Safety, Fleet Maintenance & Facility Services at FedEx Freight, respectively. An executive panel discussion moderated by Kelly Anderson, President of Impact Training Solutions. Speakers were: Shannon Everett, CFO of Rich Logistics, Dan Cushman, CEO of P.A.M. Transport, and Butch Rice, CEO of Stallion Transportation Group.
Corporate Safety Awards and Self Insurers’ Fund Safety Awards. Winners also included Driver of the Year, Ken Jones of Walmart Transportation, and Safety Professional of the Year, Scott Richardson of Dedicated Logistics. The Executive Forums were kicked
