PULSE

‘‘Although it has only been running for a short time I have already noticed an improvement in behaviour with some of the kids. I have found the quality of service excellent and have every intention of

continuing in September. I would recommend and have recommended this club to other schools in the area.’’

BOXING The schools’ view

Why did your school choose Boxing?

‘‘Our surveys and feedback forms suggest that the most significant benefit to our students has been an increase in

confidence. We have also been able to measure positive impacts on student’s progress and attendance following participation in the non contact boxing sessions.’’

We were looking for something that would appeal to a wide audience and that provided a disciplined approach to the sport.

How did the children take to it?

Initially there was a smaller take up but once they got to know Wayne and the club the numbers swelled to the point we now have a waiting list.

Was it hard to pick up?

No children can access it at a range of levels.

Both boys and girls attend the sessions don’t they? How do they get on training together?

Absolutely not an issue, they are used to PE lessons together so this is just a natural extension.

Do the kids enjoy it? They LOVE it!!

If another school asked you about Boxing and its merits, what would you say?

Fitness and discipline delivered in a fun and engaging way!!
