Inspiring Young People in PE and Sport Conference, October 22nd at the North School, Ashford (9am-4pm)

‘A high quality PE curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities’. This purpose of study will be the focus for us in this year’s County conference. Our keynote speakers will be from Government, the Youth Sport Trust and the Association of PE (afPE). They will give an insight into the expectations of schools delivery of PE and Sport. During the day there will be practical workshops directly related to aspects of the PE programmes of study in key stages 1 and 2. If you are an NQT, class teacher, PE Co-ordinator, Sports Coach or anyone in a PE delivery role this will be valuable professional development for you.

National School Sport Week

The Youth Sports Trust is pleased to announce the launch of National School Sport Week 2015, which will take place on 22-26 June.

Last year, around a million young people took part in the week, where thousands of schools across the country made a pledge to get more involved in physical activity, school sport and celebrate school achievement.

All schools who sign up this year will: - Receive free resources, toolkits and ideas to help run an exciting sporting week that will inspire all your pupils - Have the chance to win visits from Olympic and Paralympic athletes!

Registration is now open, so make sure you sign up your school today. If you need any help with registering, check out our booking process and guidance.

Does your school have a sport story to tell? Are some of your pupils already showing signs of being budding journalists?

If so, get in touch and we will print what we deem to be the best story/pictures from around the County. There will also be prizes available for the best entries.
