Cricket club relief as ground declared safe
THE future of Linton Cricket Club’s historic home ground has been secured, following the sale of the park on which it stands. The club, which set up home on

new owner, Linton Park Plc, to be told that the future of their ground is safe. Club secretary Nigel Thirkell
said: “We had no indication that the ground and the park was to be put on the market, so the newswas a surprise to us too.” The club had four years to run on
their lease, but after that the future was uncertain. Now the club have been told by Linton Park it is happy for cricket to be played on the ground “ad in- finitum”. Mr Thirkell, who played for Lin-
