CALEA AWARDS
ACCREDITATION WITH EXCELLENCE The CALEA®
Accreditation with Excellence Award is an addi-
tional indication of an agency’s effective use of accreditation as a model for enhanced public safety service delivery.
The CALEA TRI-ARC Award recognizes the governing body(s) and agencies that have concurrent CALEA Accreditation for their law enforcement, public safety communications, and public safety training agencies.
The Egon Bittner Award is granted to Chief Executive Officers who have commanded a CALEA Accredited agency(s) for 15 or more continuous years. It was created to recognize these leaders for their significant contributions to the public safety profession and to CALEA. The award was named for Professor Egon Bittner, who greatly contributed to CALEA’s early development and served as a CALEA Commissioner from 1979 to 1988.
