MARCH 19–22, 2014 GARDEN GROVE, CALIFORNIA


The Spring CALEA Conference was celebrated as the 103rd


CALEA Conference; 95 agencies were presented for Commission review. The Egon Bittner Award was presented to Sheriff Earl R. “Moose” Butler, Cumberland County, North Carolina Sheriff’s Office; and a staff award for 10 years of service was given to Rhonda O. Garner.

JULY 23–26, 2014 SCHAUMBURG, ILLINOIS


The Summer CALEA Conference saw 81 agencies presented for Commission review. The Egon Bittner Award was presented to Director Gary D. George, Alpharetta, Georgia Department of Public Safety, Chief Louis Dekmar, LaGrange, Georgia Police Department, Sheriff Richard Meyers, Winnebago County, Illinois Sheriff’s Office, and Chief Stephen F. Schmidt, Elk Grove Village, Illinois Police Department.

NOVEMBER 19–22, 2014 ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO


The Fall CALEA Conference recognized retiring CALEA Commissioners Stephen DeBenedittis, Linda Pillo, and J. Grayson Robinson for their years of service. Additionally, 90 agencies were presented for Commission review. The Tri-Arc Award was earned by the California Highway Patrol, the Maryland State Police, and the Alameda County, California Sheriff’s Office.
