Spectrum Corporate Finance advises on £5.1m sale of Impatex


Spectrum Corporate Finance has successfully led the disposal of Impatex Freight Software to Descartes Systems Group for £5.1 million.


Descartes Systems Group (Descartes) is the global leader in uniting logistics-intensive businesses in commerce, while Impatex Freight Software (Impatex) is a leading provider of electronic customs filing and freight forwarding solutions in the UK.


The European customs compliance market is characterised by a complex framework of member states, each with different regulations, languages and systems. Transportation carriers, logistics intermediaries and shippers look to technology partners, like Descartes and Impatex, to manage this complex environment.


Capita’s €210m acquisition of avocis

Details: Baker Tilly provided financial due diligence for Capita plc on its acquisition of avocis, a leading provider of customer contact management services in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, for a sum of €210m. Avocis serves similar sectors to Capita’s UK-based customer management business, and will add strength to the relationship through its strong position in the German-speaking regions of Europe

By combining Impatex’s leading UK customs and forwarding solutions with Descartes’ global community of logistics participants and logistics management solutions, customers now have a single trusted partner to help them manage their shipments across the globe.


Descartes funded the purchase price for this acquisition by drawing on its existing acquisition line of credit.

Funding Escalator celebrates second birthday


The FSE group celebrated its second year of managing the Thames Valley Berkshire (TVB) Funding Escalator in February and is proud to have offered loans and investments totaling almost £4.7 million to 35 businesses during this period. Significantly these funds, which have supported businesses from a variety of sectors all across the county, have helped to create or safeguard around 150 jobs.

BCMS launches in Middle East


As part of its ongoing international growth strategy, Kingsclere-based M&A adviser BCMS has launched in the Middle East, hosting its first-ever seminar in Tel Aviv, Israel.


The seminar, presented by David Rebbettes, founding director, and Mike Sweeting, director of international development, was well received with over 200 SME business owners in attendance.

BCMS will operate from an office in the Vita Towers complex in Tel Aviv’s business district.
