This is the last call for entries for the Solent Deals Awards 2015. Nominations close on Monday April 17


Following the record 600-plus entries for the Thames Valley Deals Awards, a flood of nominations were expected for the Solent equivalent.


Judges were set to meet on May 6 to decide on finalists and winners ahead of the gala awards dinner at St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton, on June 11.


The shortlisted candidates were due to be announced on the www.dealsawards.co.uk website later this month.


This year’s awards are sponsored by UBS, Pitmans, HSBC, Moore Blatch, BCMS, WK Corporate Finance, PwC, Taylor Made, Meridian and Coffin Mew.


Presenter of the Solent Deals Awards this year is stand-up comedian Matt Forde.


A Labour adviser turned stand-up, Matt Forde is not your typical political comic. Passionate, opinionated and excitable, he loves football as much as Prime Minister’s Questions and combines ’spot-on’ impressions, ’up-to-the- minute’ observations and a unique outlook on politics with a genuine love of Westminster’s big personalities.

Matt Forde’s live show The Political Party has been a sell-out during its monthly residency at Westminster’s St James Theatre. Forde has brought parliament to life with his debate with some of the most notorious political figures, including Alastair Campbell, Nigel Farage, Alan Johnson, Jack Straw, George Galloway, Matthew Parris, Stella Creasy, Charles Clarke and Michael Portillo.


As the Solent Deals Awards takes place during the canvassing build-up to the General Election in May 7, his act will be especially current.
