• Planning consultancy Terence O’Rourke has made a senior-level appointment in its Bournemouth office amidst a continuing upturn in business in its 30th year. Nigel Pugsley joins as an associate director, having formerly held the associate director title at BNP Paribas Real Estate, Southampton. He brings to the team extensive experience in planning strategy, development advice and negotiating with local planning authorities and consultees. Managing director Tim Hancock said: “We’re delighted to have Nigel on board at the beginning of this special year and we look forward to showing our clients what expertise he can bring to the table.


• PwC has further strengthened its successful South Coast practice with the appointment of Julian Gray (right) as assurance partner. Having led the EY practice on the South Coast for the past eight years, Gray brings a wealth of experience in the retail and leisure, defence and technology sectors. He has worked with listed, private- equity backed and owner-managed businesses and is well known for working with companies as they prepare for and transition through flotation, refinancing or trade sales. He commented: “We have an excellent team in Southampton dedicated to building long-term relationships with our clients, supporting them as trusted advisers.“ Ian Wishart (left), senior partner, PwC Southampton said: “We are continuing to invest heavily in the office across all levels to ensure that we have the right expertise in place. • Partners at commercial property firm Vail Williams have appointed Matthew Samuel-Camps as its new chief executive. Ian Rudland, the firm’s current CEO, is stepping down after 17 years at the helm as part of the firm’s continued development and succession planning. He will continue as a partner in the business. Samuel-Camps said: “I am honoured to have been asked to lead the firm as it enters an exciting period in its development. After a tough period, the property market is gaining in confidence and Vail Williams is well placed to continue to take advantage of that renewal.“


• James Woodhouse has made the move to one of Southampton’s largest local law firms, Eric Robinson Solicitors, to help meet the growing demand on its dispute resolution team. With five years’ experience in guiding clients through a variety of legal wranglings, Woodhouse comes to the firm as a senior solicitor from Charles Lucas and Marshall in Berkshire where he worked in litigation, specialising in property-based disputes and commercial cases.


• Glanvilles has three new additions to its property services team: Diane Nicholls (left), Gareth Maddern (centre) and Jennifer Hatchard. Nicholls is based at the firm’s new Chichester office. Qualifying as a solicitor in 1991, she has specialised in residential conveyancing, development work, rural properties and leasehold enfranchisement. She has practised in contentious and non-contentious areas of law in the South East and London for over 25 years. Hatchard joins Glanvilles Fareham office with over 15 years’ experience in residential conveyancing, 12 of which were spent working for a local firm in Fareham and Southampton where she gained experience in all areas of conveyancing. Maddern graduated in law with honours from Portsmouth University in 2012. He is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and has experience in both commercial and residential property.


• Commercial property specialists at Portsmouth legal practice Verisona Law are welcoming a new member to the team, Julian De Giovanni, who brings with him over a decade’s experience in property law. De Giovanni has made the move from Downie & Gadban Solicitors in Alton where, despite the impact of the recent economic recession, he successfully built a profitable residential development practice with smaller, bespoke developers. “It is good to be part of a bigger firm, but one that is not so big that it has lost its character and drive,“ he explained.

• Law firm Blake Morgan has strengthened its team of real estate specialists with the appointment of Chris Dolan as a partner. Dolan, who joins the firm from Shoosmiths, where he was a partner, brings with him a wide range of experience in working with national and regional house builders on all aspects of land acquisition. He spent part of his early career at Blake Lapthorn, which merged with Morgan Cole last year to form Blake Morgan, and so is making a return to the firm after 10 years. He will be based in Chandlers Ford.
