Ranger Message Welcome to BC Parks!

“Earth and sky, woods and Fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books.” — John Lubbock

It has always been my privilege as a park ranger to share and interpret British Columbia’s amazing parks with tourists & campers from near and far. Whether we are turning our cheeks upwards to feel the cool spray of Margaret Falls within Herald Park or standing in awe on the shores of the Adams River within Roderick Haig Brown Park, watching thousands of shimmering red Sockeye salmon pass by on their final journey home, …these memories last a lifetime, and are as important to nurturing the soul as any of life’s most precious experiences.

From campgrounds to pristine lakes, wilderness canoe circuits and hiking trails, British Columbia is home to some of the world’s most incredible and awe-inspiring places. Each park in our system provides visitors with another unique experience. British Columbia’s geography allows visitors to connect with nature in an untold variety of ways - where else, in less than a one hour vehicle ride, can you move from experiencing Pacific White-Sided dolphins playing in the tide to watching the arid dry loving Alligator lizard scurrying from warm rock to warm rock? Only a BC Park of course!

Unplug, slow down, take a break and look at our world through a BC Park lens; you’re sure to see and experience a whole new level of relaxation and appreciation for our world’s wild places.
