Blanket Creek


is the ideal place to spend several days enjoying several km of beautiful fi ne sandy beaches, swimming, and relaxing in the nearby commercial Nakusp or Halycon Hotsprings. 32 campsites have direct beach access. 10 Nancy Greene


                 roadside park with a sub-alpine lake, Nancy Greene Provincial Park is a welcoming site for weary travellers. The park is a popular overnight stop for tourists and also provides day-use for local residents wishing to escape the summer heat of the valley. It is the perfect place to enjoy fi shing, picnicking, walking, swimming, boating, and nordic skiing by winter. Open mid May through to late Sept. (weather dependent). Check website for updates.


11 Rosebery


  of Nakusp, and 3 km north of New Denver on Highway 6 on the bank of Wilson Creek, across from historic hamlet of Rosebery located on the 


Park is in the heart of the Kootenay’s “Silvery Slocan.” The rich mining history, ghost towns, museums, hiking and mountain biking trails keep visitors busy for days. Open May 1 through to Sept. 15 at 11 AM.


12 Summit Lake


   fi shing, canoeing, and swimming in the lake’s clear refreshing mountain water. Open May 15 to 11 AM Sept. 22. For information voice mail the park staff directly at 250-265-4710.


13 Syringa Creek


       launch, large day-use area with a sandy beach,      19 km northwest of Castlegar on Broadwater        for families wishing to pursue beach activities, fi shing, hiking (10 km of trails), boating, and swimming. The park protects a signifi cant stand of interior Douglas fi r forests and has one of the few remaining grassland ecosystems in  for wildlife viewing, coupled with attractive campground and day-use facilities make this park a destination for a family vacation. Open May 2 through to Sept. 30 at 11 AM.
