As of 2014, road access across the John Har t Dam is subject to long-term closures and will remain in effect for up to three years as a result of the BC Hydro Reconstruction Project. Highway and road signs are in place to direct recreational traffic to the parks through this period. The alternate access to Loveland Bay is available by travelling 7 km nor th of Campbell River from the Campbell River bridge on Hwy 19 to the Duncan Bay Road. Turn left on Duncan Bay Road and drive south and along Gordon Road past the PRT Nursery for 6 km on paved roads before turning onto the Loveland Bay gravel road for the remaining 12 km to Loveland Bay Park.


7 Mansons Landing – Cortes Island


              Cortes Island, accessible by boat or car ferry from Campbell River via Quadra Island. Moorage available at adjacent federal government wharf        natural 365-metre spit and fresh water swimming on Hague Lake. No camping permitted; however, camping is available at nearby Smelt Bay Provincial Park.

9 Morton Lake


7        Location: 27 km northwest of Campbell River. Turn off Highway 19 at the Menzies Main gravel logging road. Follow the Menzies Main for 12 km and then take Morton Lake Road for another 7 km to the  with fishing, swimming and boating opportunities.
