TENSATOR ASSISTANT IS ON THE UP DOWN UNDER
An airport has become the first in Australia to use a Tensator Virtual Assistant in order to streamline the flow of passengers through its security screening area. Launceston Airport was the first in the country to recognise the
opportunities that would be brought by installing the virtual assistant produced by Milton Keynes-based Tensator. The manufacturer specialises in the management of the customer
journey and has offices in France, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Germany, UAE and America.
‘IT’S GREAT TO SEE LAUNCESTON AIRPORT LEADING THIS EVOLUTION’
Tensator’s Virtual Assistant is a next generation digital signage
solution designed to enhance both the customer experience and the company brand. The system at Launceston Airport projects a lifelike image of Ava, a
fictional airport customer service representative, dressed in the Launceston uniform, who stands at the entrance to the security area. Ava greets approaching passengers and explains acceptable travel liquid amounts to them and other security processes. “We’re delighted that Launceston Airport has installed Ava to help
make the travel experience even more unique for its passengers,” explains Nelly Aveline, export manager at Tensator. “Tensator Virtual Assistants have become a familiar sight at
airports, train stations and conference venues across the UK, USA and UAE, and now they’re making their mark in Australia too. It’s great to see Launceston Airport leading this evolution in the passenger journey.” Since the unit was installed, the airport has seen queues at the
security area significantly reduced, particularly at peak times. Security area staff have also reported that they no longer have to repeat the security advice to passengers as often as they did previously.
