Businesses in Milton Keynes could receive up to £3,000 in vouchers to access high speed broadband under a national scheme. From 1 April, the Government will
provide a cash pot allowing businesses to meet the costs of installing Superfast Broadband enabling download speeds in excess of 30Mb/s. It comes after Milton Keynes
Council joined the second stage of the Governments Superfast Broadband Connections vouchers scheme. The initiative will run for one year. SMEs wishing to register their interest can email: mylocalbroadband@milton-

VOLUNTEERS TO BUILD TANK
Outdoor arts company Festive Road is building a full sized replica World War I tank as part of the Great War commemorations. The tank will feature working
parts, including rotating tracks, and a cut away side which will reveal the inside of the vehicle. It is being created for a new 40-
minute production called Best Company. Festive Road is looking for volunteers to help piece together the tank. The Milton Keynes company is
also looking for venues and events to tour the show or display the tank from June onwards. For more information email

metal pressings and welded assemblies into many different industries, is a family owned business with a workforce of over 200. It operates from two sites in Milton Keynes with a floorspace of 100,000sq ft.
About 60 per cent of MKP clients are first-tier
automotive manufacturers including Aston Martin, Bentley and Lotus. MKP’s managing director, Mike Read, said: “The
company’s progress has been built on supplying excellent customer service and solving engineering and manufacturing solutions whilst remaining competitive in a global market place. “We are proud to have supplied Vauxhall since 1989
and very pleased the new Vivaro’s planned 10-year production life provides us the opportunity to provide job security for our workforce.’’
MK FIRM LEADS FAIR TAX DRIVE
Tax specialist Engaged Consulting has become the first company to offer Fair Tax Mark (FTM) service to clients as a licensed assessor. The Milton Keynes-based company
has been appointed by the Fair Tax Mark organisation to help firms achieve a new kitemark which reflects a responsible approach to their tax affairs. Firms have to undergo an assessment
against the FTM criteria and accreditation by the FTM organisation. Tim Law, director of Engaged Consulting
(pictured), said: “By applying for the mark, businesses will understand the ways tax transparency can add value
to their organisation such as differentiating themselves from their competitors and attracting ethical customers. “Tax is an issue which affects every
businesses and attracts significant public attention but by achieving this mark, they will show they are a responsible organisation. I hope to make Milton Keynes a showcase for Fair Tax businesses.”
