Kittery Point Yacht Yard in Eliot and Kittery is keeping busy this winter and will be right through the spring.

The main project this winter has been

on a Wilbur 34. They have removed the fl ybridge and now are reconfi guring the aft end of the house. The Holland 32 pleasure boat, which underwent a major refi t last winter, is back in to have a new teak deck laid in the cockpit. An Ocean Alexander is in for some repair work to her cockpit area. They are removing the superfi cial stress cracks all around the cockpit and bulwarks in the stern. They then put on four coats of primer and Awlgripped the repaired area. There is also a lot of the usual winter maintenance that still needs to be done on storage customers and that will keep the crew very busy.

At the Kittery yard they are working on

a Rocket wooden sailboat built in Glouces- ter, MA. They have replaced 1600 fasteners, reinstalled the chain plates and redid the interior.

Also in the shop is a John’s Bay 42 foot lobster boat, which is having her hull repainted. They may also repaint her house and deck if time permits.

There is a lot of cosmetic work to do at both yards which includes paint and varnish. They also have a couple of Awlgrip jobs lined up that will be done this spring. It should be noted, that they have changed the name of Kittery Yacht Boat- building to Patten’s Yachts. Presently they are building a new Patten 22, confi gured with a center console and powered with a 200-hp Yamaha. She will also have front seating, modifi ed transom seat, a hardtop and a forward head in the center console.
